title reliteracy

The Religious Literacy assessment project is part of a larger collaborative initiative, Partners in Learning, which has been established between the Catholic Education Office, Wollongong and Australian Catholic University (ACU).

It is an assessment conducted in Year 4 in term 3 across the diocese. Being religiously literate requires children leaving a Catholic primary school to be able to communicate with and be at home in Catholic society and religion in general.

The assessment of religious literacy focuses on students’ knowledge and understanding of the key concepts that are being addressed by the Religious Education program and the children’s ability to communicate with their religious tradition.
